Large couponing giant Coupons.com has come to Canada…sort of!
Coupons.com is known for publishing and distributing grocery based coupons. They are the largest company that does so. Not too long ago, however, they entered the online retail coupons market and started offering online promo codes for top retailers in the United States. The addition of online promo codes made them compete directly with other large online coupon sites such as Retailmenot, Brads deals, Offers.com, and a number of others.
Over the years, many have wondered if Coupons.com would enter the Canadian market and distribute grocery coupons. In doing so competing against the likes of Save.ca, Smartsource.ca and Websaver.ca. However, their entry in Canada for grocery coupons never materialized.
Instead, Coupons.com decided to test the Canadian waters by offering online promo codes for Canadian online retailers like The Gap, Children’s Place, Old Navy and Cineplex theatres.
It will be interesting to see how much interest Coupons.com gets from Canadian consumers over the upcoming holiday season. If interest is respectable, look for Coupons.com to increase the amount of online retail coupons and promo codes it promotes in Canada.
So yes. Coupons.com is in Canada…sort of.
